Short History

About Our Great Team

As mentioned on our “About Us” page, our school was run successfully for years (since 1994) by  head instructor, Franco De Carmargo under Grandmaster Carlson Gracie. The academy was one of the very first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu schools in the Southern California area, and we’re very proud to have been able to continue the tradition set by Professor De Carmargo. See his original school logo to the right.

With Franco’s dedication to teaching the Carlson Gracie method of Jiu-Jitsu, the academy has successfully produced many great instructors competitors and fighters, in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Mixed Martial arts (MMA).

Below is our current team of fine instructors carrying on the tradition of Professor Franco De Carmargo’s Jiu Jitsu philosophy as taught to him by Grandmaster Carlson Gracie.

I wanted to thank you for all your teaching and wisdom in the year I spent training with you.  I know you care so much for each of your students and that comes across in your teaching.  I also appreciate your love and respect for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which also comes across in your teaching.  I believe it is for these reasons that your school is successful.”
